NUR 328 - COURSE DESCRIPTION :
This course focuses on introducing basic and foundational concepts related to community health nursing. Students will explore public health and the barriers and faciliators associated with managing chronic disease/illness in a complex and evolving healthcare system. Topics such as health and wellness, culture, community needs assessment, health promotion, communication and transition into community healthcare systems wil be covered. Humans are dynamic and enigmatic, armed with a lifetime of experiences, family and cultural ties and spiritual souls that harvest fears of mortality. The clinical experience component of this course will provide students an opportunity to focus on primary prevention techniques within the community setting. (3 credits)

NUR 101, NUR 205, PSY 130.  See specific program requirements.
